Northeast Ohio has been awarded a federal grant for $4.25 million through the Sustainable Communities Partnership, sponsored by HUD, US EPA, and US DOT. The purpose of this grant is to convene key stakeholders across a 12-county region to design and establish a regional planning framework which will provide perspective and vision to land use, infrastructure, housing and other policy decisions.
As the MPO for the greater Akron area, AMATS is a key stakeholder in this process. AMATS Director Jason Segedy is Vice Chair of the Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium (NEOSCC) Board and a member of the Executive Committee.
The consortium board has been expanded over the past year to now include 28 organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. The current list of members includes:
