The region is served by two Regional Transit Authorities (RTAs). METRO serves Summit County and PARTA serves Portage County. They are responsible for maintaining transit operations in the region. Both agencies provide fixed route bus service, express bus service, and door-to-door service.
Recently PARTA was awarded a Federal TIGER Grant to complete a Downtown Kent Multimodal Center. This center will include green technology, support all types of transportation and help spur economic development in Kent.
