AMATS’ Switching Gears Program hosted a successful Active Transportation Conference in the heart of Akron on June 26.  Attendees learned groundbreaking techniques on how to promote walking, biking and transit use in their communities and how to create vibrant neighborhoods.

The day included presentations by Jason Roberts of The Better Block project and Dave Cieslewicz, the executive director of Wisconsin Bike Fed and former mayor of Madison, Wisconsin.  There were also “breakout sessions” on a variety of cycling and pedestrian-related topics.
